Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) flying in remote regions need to have a localised awareness. The UAV can be inquired by a remote air traffic control (ATC) for a reason. In this case, it is required that the UAV be equipped with a full-duplex voice relay system so that the ATC personnel can directly communicate with the UAV operator. The objective of this project was to develop a small form factor voice enabled communication link using an SDR platform in order to facilitate this communication.
