The study is focused on acrylate-based polymers which can be synthesized through several routes. One of those routes of synthesis is through esterification of an acrylic acid with an alcohol. The study is aimed in developing polymers using esterification process. It is believed that the monomers required for acrylate-based polymer synthesis can be produced through the esterification process. Therefore, in this study the focus was to conduct research in the development of relevant monomers which can then be polymerized into the required molecular weights for desired properties.
