The Physlab has recently replicated three of its own in-house experiments for the Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences (PIEAS), Islamabad. These include a very interesting apparatus to gauge energy conservation in two dimensions, tracking the simple harmonic motion of a mass attached to a spring using a webcam and a mind-boggling experiment of coupled harmonic oscillations called the Wilberforce pendulum. The project exhibits never-ending commitment to foster a culture of practical exploration-oriented science in Pakistan.
