The research goal of this study was to conduct cross-cultural, inter-disciplinary research to (a) identify low-income mothers' health knowledge, attitudes and behaviours that may lead to a reduction in maternal or infant mortality in those settings (b) design and test technology enabled solutions that can help spread health education to low-income mothers in a format that is easily embraced by such communities.
